What a Young Man Ought to Know is one of a series of books published when the world was black and white (circa. 1900). While the intention of the books had merit - teaching younger people about sexuality (and morality, a squishy subject if there ever was one) - the writing is stunningly paternalistic and judgmental, just like the era in which it was printed.

I thought I’d update What a Young Man Ought to Know occasionally, to address real-world issues. On Twitter, that’s at @WhatAYoungMan

What a Young Man Ought to Know sample chapters (really):

The Selection of A Wife  (always check the teeth and gums, I say)

Personal Purity  (and it’s converse, personal pollution. You know who your are.)

Evils To Be Shunned and Consequences To Be Dreaded  (and not a single word about Twitter)

Other books in the series
