Tomorrow Never Knows
If you are approaching retirement, or are already well into it, you grew up in a time of great social change: the pill, gay rights, feminism, the counterculture revolution, and of course, music.
Being the mature individual you are, you're aware that tomorrow never knows - which just happens to be the name of a song by the guys from Liverpool. There are dozens of cover versions of the song; here's one of the more interesting.
Sheila Chandra, who was the voice of Monsoon, released this version in the 80s. Her version streams eastern-influenced instrumentation with the psychedelic--influenced lyrics of John Lennon (which in turn were influenced by sources as diverse as Timothy Leary and the Tibetan Book of the Dead).
Tell that to kids today, they don't believe you. Of course, there's always the original, which was released - and hold on to your walkers for this - more than a half-century ago. Yikes.
